This ball is your new best friend. You're gonna place it comfortably between your elbows at address. Now, if it falls at the top of your swing, you probably have a flared trail arm and the club's way across the line. If we can keep it between the arms at the top, that's a better shoulder rotation and you probably are doing a much better job planing the shaft. If it falls in transition, the trail arm may be working internally, whereas if we can keep it in between those elbows, it's gonna do a better job working externally and shallowing the shaft. Now, if it's falling out through the zone, that could be a lead arm breakdown and there's your chicken wing. However, if we keep it in between the arms through impact, we're maintaining our extension through the golf ball, allowing us to be much more efficient. Now, just like with any other drill, I'm going to start very slow, making little half swings where I feel like I keep my arms straight as I retain possession of that ball. As you get more comfortable, you can make bigger swings and maybe eventually add a golf ball.
