Whenever I receive an email, I always think about three things and I follow the less than two minute rule. This tip is my favorite and nothing slips through their cracks. Number two, organizing and sorting emails. The trick is to not sort everything in your inbox. Instead, only put emails that require an action from you in the to-do priority folder. Number three, managing tasks from emails. I love using my email as a task management system. I love putting tasks in the form of an email in my calendar and creating appointments for myself to time block. That way no one can book me and have time dedicated to work on my priorities. Number four, daily email habits. Check your email three times a day and the goal is to detect immediate urgencies. Always tend to emails from your manager and senior stakeholders. And finally, number five, search and retrieval. Use search. Search functions are advanced enough to find what you need and make sure you know how to leverage the search feature in your email.
