We're now at day 150 since I started my cabin, so I thought I would do a little recap of what I've built so far. I started by building the platform, but then to make sure my cabin would be weatherproof, one of you guys told me to put some tar paper under my cabin. And once that was done, I started making the walls, and then raising them one after the other. And for the first time, I could get a good idea of what the cabin would look like. I was honestly quite relieved, because I thought the cabin might look weird, full-size, because plans and models only go so far when it comes to the feel of the real cabin. But after I got the sheathing on, I was on to the house wrap, which was a pain to install, because it was really hard to get it completely flat, especially for the top part. But once that was done, I started making the rafters for the roof. Out of two pieces, I knelt together, because my roof is 20 feet. But the longest board I could find was only 12 feet, and then I installed them on top using those metal ties. And it seems to be holding okay, but I guess we'll find that out coming back after this winter. The roof is far from done, so I had to add some blocking, the front and side pieces as well, and the triangle shapes over my entrance. All that was left was the OSB and the tar paper, so I cut the sheets to the right size, then nailed it on the roof, which was super satisfying, even if I had to bring each board up twice, once to measure, and the second time to install. And the tar paper was really easy to install, but I still have some ways to go before winter, and hopefully I get it done in time, but anyways, with that, I'll see you guys next time.
