OpenAI announces some BIG updates including new...
Truly breaking chat GPT news. I just got out of day one of OpenAI's shipments where they're announcing the next 12 days exciting new updates to OpenAI, chat GPT. There were two huge updates announced today. I'm going to walk you through what they were and what they mean to you. Only 20,000 people joined this live stream. It ended about 10 minutes ago so you were getting this hot. So the first thing they announced is that O1 preview is no longer the best OpenAI model. That is because today they are dropping O1. And O1 has some pretty significant enhancements. First thing, comparing O1 to O1 preview and GPT 4.0 across all these different benchmarks, O1 far exceeds them on its smartness. Relatively in terms of consistency, it's going to consistently be better when it's performing at its worst than those other models. It's also going to be way faster than O1 preview. They demoed asking chat GPT to list out all the Roman emperors in order and O1 was about twice as fast as O1 preview. The developer said that O1 responds on average about 60% faster than O1 preview while also again being significantly more accurate and making major mistakes at about a 30% less rate than O1 preview, which is already just really good at making fewer mistakes. The next thing to know about O1 is that it is finally multimodal. That means you can upload images in O1 and actually communicate with that, include that in your prompt, etc. It doesn't have any of those other features yet though that are in GPT 4.0. Those apparently are forthcoming, including web browsing, but they're not a part of O1 yet. And the other huge, huge update is there is O1 pro mode dropping, which is only available, it seems, with the new chat GPT pro plan. And what O1 pro mode is, is basically unlimited access to O1 preview, advanced voice mode, all of those super compelling models that are limited on the previous paid plan and also on the free plan. It's also super advanced. They have an example of it doing a really complex chemistry problem here. Apparently, it's going to be great for anyone doing really complex work, but the catch is it does cost 10 times the monthly amount that chat GPT plus costs. It is $200 a month. So what this means for you, unless you really, really, really need chat GPT to be doing complex chemistry, physics problems for you, it's probably not going to be worth at this point working at $200 a month. I don't do that. I will not be doing that. I'm going to try to do one of these every day as they announce the new drops. So follow for more like this.
