Let's say that I operated a restaurant and I wanted to automate my business. Here are a couple of things that I might do. First thing, I would consolidate all of my data. Let's assume that my restaurant offers takeout. That means I'm probably getting orders from Uber Eats, Postmates, Grubhub, DoorDash, Caviar, Google, Toast, Seamless, and whatever other unprofitable VC-backed delivery service has popped up since I started this sentence. All of these services have APIs. So what I would do is construct something on make.com that triggers via webhook to run an automation and create a new record for every order that comes in on Airtable. By the way, I've started doing this for all different types of clients. So if you run a business and you want me to automate it, feel free to reach out. The link is in my bio. On Airtable, every order would be matched to a customer. And if no customer was found at the time of the order, then we would automatically create a new customer profile. OK, now that we have all of our orders consolidated, I would come in like Gordon Ramsay on one of those shows where he consults for failing restaurants. We're going to look through our data. We're going to find all of our customers that dined once and then never came back. We're going to see what they ordered. We're going to identify the worst thing on our menu, and we're going to slash it. Gone. Next, I would create a chat bot using Twilio and ChatGPT, and I would reach out to all of our best customers, the people that dine with us the most, and I would offer them a free glass of wine on maybe Tuesday, like a night that's not busy where we want more business. I would probably also set up an automation that recommends items that I can upsell to customers at the register based on their previous order history. So if someone has celiac and they can't eat gluten, I would make sure that I'm not recommending them a brownie, but otherwise like a salad or something they would like. If you have a business and you want to get in touch with me about automating it, feel free to reach out. The link is in my bio. We are taking new clients, all different shapes and types and sizes. This was a fun one. See ya.
