Calling all consultants, investment bankers, da...
I went to the number one business school and I work in AI, and I'm here to say that the model that just came out today from OpenAI, called O1, feels like the first pre-trained model that out of the box can be a coworker or a collaborator to deep finance, deep quantitative roles. My team is testing this new OpenAI model nonstop. You can see just how many fricking windows we have open. This is one from my teammate. It is, you know, your risk manager, an investment firm, and a merger will only be triggered based on certain stock price conditions, and three different tasks for the AI, estimating the probability that a little stuff will happen, and then ultimately assessing risk to the firm, and basically whether you should hedge against it if the merger is likely to not go through. So it shows, you know, quote unquote, thought for 48 seconds. You can click that dropdown and go through all of the steps that the AI took. Obviously, the response time is gonna be a lot longer. It is going to fully break down all these steps. I love that it just does these really crisp, concise recaps at each step, and yeah, task three, yes, based on that, definitely hedge against the risk. Really interesting stuff, again, for complex reasoning.
