I absolutely love what psychedelics teach us about simplicity. The Berkley Center for Psychedelic Science interviewed this guy named Josh Goldstein. He's an Oregon facilitator, and the guy said, if you can't open the package, you don't need the booster. Literally, if you're too high to open the baggie and put the mushrooms in your mouth, you don't need more mushrooms. That's just good simple common sense. Meditation and psychedelics can tune us into our simple common sense. I like simpler foods with fewer chemicals in them. Simple. I like to be surrounded by art and objects and family photos that make me feel happy. Simple. I could spend more time with my family in a way that's unhurried and peaceful. Simple. I could spend less time staring at my phone, listening to strangers tell me how to live my life and instead go live my life. Simple. Sometimes our lives are so complicated that it's going to take a lot of work to extricate ourself from the complexity without making our lives worse. Sometimes when we're cleaning out the closet, it gets messier before it gets cleaner. But simplicity means taking it slow and having faith in yourself and loving yourself for what you can accomplish in each moment. Just take your time. Integration can take months or years. Just don't give up and focus on the good. Focus on your effort. Just look for the littlest bit of light and grow it. Don't worry about opening another baggie that you don't need.
