Firing your hips is ruining your swing and having your arms get stuck behind your lower body. To help fix this early extension, try this drill. Grab an alignment stick and thread it through your front belt loop so it's sitting flush across your waist. If you tend to early extend and take a swing, you're going to notice that your club or hands are going to hit the alignment stick. This is when your hips shoot forward instead of staying back and rotating around. To help fix this, feel like you're sinking back into your back hip, letting your arms get out in front of you, creating space for them to come down and through. You'll know that you're doing this correctly because you'll get instant feedback by missing the stick. This space that you're creating to let your arms come down and through is key to maintain face angle and consistency. Once you feel comfortable, make a couple of practice swings and practice with some punch shots. Be very careful because if you do early extend, you're going to get a rude awakening by hitting your hands on the stick. If you really want to roll the dice, work up to a full swing being extra careful in getting your hands out in front and keeping your butt back. Now take the alignment stick out, feeling the space created from your upper and lower body and have this feeling in all of your clubs in your back.
