If you're a golfer and you have poor rotation, or you feel like you have a tight back, this is a drill for you. So first, you're going to lie on your side with a foam roller or a book or a pillow underneath that top leg. Then, while keeping that knee on that foam roller, you're going to take that top hand and rotate all the way over, trying to reach it to the ground. Once you feel that restriction, you're going to start doing some breathing exercises. So you're going to inhale, expanding that ribcage as high as you can, and then take a deep exhale all the way out. And then as you exhale, I want you to try and get a little bit more ground. This can be effective because we're essentially telling the brain and the muscle that it's okay to relax and be in these deeper positions. The end goal is to get that shoulder almost all the way down to the floor, but it is not necessary for your first couple times.
