Coaching corner from a three egg two piece of toast lunch break moment I coach I'm a career coach I Coach my clients to never apply for a job if you don't have a at least a message out to somebody at the company If not already a conversation on the calendar I've had a few people ask me recently should I have applied to the job before I have the call? My answer is yes, if it's somebody that's a cold contact because if the conversation goes well They're going to have a lot of positive association affiliation with you at the end of the call If you've already submitted your application, you can say hey I'm curious if there's any way that you could support my application to make sure it gets read really appreciated talking to you Hopefully they say Oh happy to go put a referral on it Much easier for them to do it and more likely that they do it in that moment versus you one week later following up And saying hey, I finally submitted my application. Could you refer me as we talked about? Hope that helps
