This is what I use to make vlogs about being in your 40s. My name is Tim, and yesterday somebody asked in the comments, what do I use? So let's discuss all the toys. And yes, there is some fancier stuff, but number one is the arm pod. Using my phone and shooting in cinematic. Most of the stuff around New York City has just been finding flat surfaces. So I did find this amazing hack recently. It's meant for golf carts, but it's opened up a whole new world of angles at home and around the city. Most subway signs are magnetic, so it looks like I got a big old 12-foot tripod with me everywhere. But for the most part, it's just about sticking my phone in places I think would provide an interesting angle. Or just holding it in my hand. And I've made a lot of these, so the more you do it, the better you get with the details. Because I don't like to stop, I've taught myself tricks like lining up my knuckles with the top of this fence. That way I can just keep running and it looks pretty smooth. And then for shots like this, it's really a sense of space and depth. My cold plunge has this phone holder that I don't use very often. And then sometimes I try new things like putting it on the swing. And then immediately look up and get busted by Kelly. There's definitely some awkward elements to this. But especially now that I'm not in corporate America any longer. I'm trying to let a bit more of the Wes Anderson side of my brain come out. But it's still super basic around the house. For the most part, it's just about using existing shelves and cabinets. Or just the top of a window. When I was in corporate America, I tried to keep it as subtle as possible. And I held onto old phones so I could just grab and go shots like this. I did just get these recently. And by the way, there's nothing in this video that I've ever been given or was paid to talk about. And for the most part, the shots from my desk are just like this too. Time lapse on the phone always helps bridge gaps in between scenes. In public, if the background is clear, I'll just sit the phone on a shelf like that. But again, for the most part, this is all my arm pod. By the way, we've got to make one more quick stop for lettuce. We're having ground chicken tacos tonight. Come on by. There it is. Simple old iceberg. Can't forget that. Grab a couple joy rides and we're out of here. You can use the bottom of the light post for the shot crossing the street. Bookshelf behind us for the shot of the shot. And my number one source of encouragement who keeps me honest through all this. And I just genuinely love making two minute little movies. It makes my brain consistently curious about where can I put it next. How about the bar that holds the barn doors? That's a nice little overhead for cleaning up. And then for one of my favorite moments of the day, just put it upside down. And then for things like vacuuming, duh. And I do have to actually vacuum the mezzanine from time to time. It gets dusty up here. But this is a super fun shot. I don't think I've gotten this before I had the glasses. There are a bunch of other toys that I use for special occasions. Podcasts. Solo runs. This thing I've used sparingly. And I've had that for 10 years. Alright, it's snack hour. Let's get the fanciest toy out. Couple cups of popcorn and one of these. And as we bring this down and wind this down, you can catch a quick little peek of the subway out there. Which is part of why this is so much fun to try to bring to you. I lived here for almost 14 years. I'm a 47 year old dude and most of you have been here for maybe a chapter or two. Which is part of why I get up at 4 o'clock every day. To make the most of the time that I've got. That's why I close each day with a quick sip. To say thank you to the day and to you for being here. It's super fun to let you in and tell you things like...
