AI OpenAI Announces 4.1 The battle of the Cod...
OpenAI has just announced GPT 4.1 sort of variants of models. It's GPT 4.1, 4.1 Mini, and 4.1 Nano. And it's a one million context window, and this is interesting, but it speaks to a bigger trend of all the big coding models that are just released. Look at that title, a major improvements on coding, but also look at, I'm going to get at the end of this video to the new features in 4.1. What's emphasized on Cloud Sonnet 3.7 that was recently released? State-of-the-art coding skills. And if we go look at Gemini, strong reasoning and coding capabilities. So what do these have in common? The strongest earlier adoption use cases are often developers in code. And all of these players know that. So they're competing now for this early strong market for the developers. That's what's happening. Cloud Anthropic has had a lead in a favorite model, and now we've been seeing engineers now really like Gemini 2.5, and now waits to be seen what the buzz is after actual usage in 4.1. Part of the announcement was Windsurf launching with OpenAI, and they're giving away usage for seven days on Windsurf for free for 4.1. They're bullish on it. They say their benchmarks look similar to OpenAI's, really strong. So this is interesting. This is running long. I'll do another post on 4.1's future.
