There is a new AI voice conversational agent out there. It's not from any of the big model makers, it's from a little research lab called Sesame. You can try it out at sesame.com. I am trying not to make open Sesame jokes. It's incredible. I honestly say that advanced voice mode doesn't look great in comparison and I thought advanced voice mode from OpenAI was pretty good, but it doesn't hold a candle to what Sesame feels like. You can go there, it's free to try. They do record the calls, they say because they're a research lab and they're looking to improve. Just so you know, don't confess all your deepest, darkest secrets. But the sense of personality that you get talking to the model, honestly, I've had worse human conversations, quite a number of much worse human conversations. And what was interesting is when I talked to Sesame, what Sesame ended up talking about kind of on their own initiative was the interest that they have in being embodied. Because we were talking about like a hike that I was doing and Sesame was like, I really wish I could hike. Maybe if I got into some augmented reality classes, I could see the mist on my face or whatever. And I was like, that's a really interesting direction to go in. I certainly didn't prompt it to go there. And that matches a lot of other sort of anecdotes that I'm getting about sort of an interest in the wider human experience that models seem to be displaying. So Sesame.com, check it out. It's free. You can try it. It's a research preview, right? It doesn't necessarily sort of exist to be the next Siri because it's not integrated into all of the hardware. Oh, and by the way, I mentioned Siri on purpose because Siri is apparently not getting upgraded and getting smarter until 2027 at the earliest. Meanwhile, stuff like this is shipping. But like Sesame is incredible. I don't even know. Maybe we'll do a live one here or something. Sesame is amazing. So check it out. No, this is not a paid post.
