Losing your posture in your swing? Try this dri...
Standing up out of your posture mid-swing, that early lift is wrecking your contact. Here's a simple way to stay down and through it. When your posture breaks down, your chest lifts, your hips stall, and you throw your hands at the ball. That's a recipe for disaster. A huge culprit of this is lifting your back heel off the ground, shooting your hips forward, and bringing your chest up. So to help fix this, place a club under your trail foot's heel and keep pressure on it during the downswing. If your heel lifts, you'll feel it immediately and the club will drop. To help fix this, on the downswing, really feel like your heel is driving into the ground, feeling your foot planted, and keeping your chest down over the ball. When you bring it to the top, your heel should be planted. As you come down and through, it should still be planted, and then the club should drop after you make contact. People shifting their weight incorrectly usually shift from their back heel to their front toe, therefore early extending and losing your posture. Instead, feel like the weight is shifting from your back toe to your front heel. This will keep your hips back, chest down, and have you stay in your posture longer in your swing. So go give this drill a try and let me know how it works for you.
