The prediction I feel most comfortable making is about the effect on human employment. 10 years from now, we won't have seen any net effect of AI on human employment. We might've seen some jobs go up and others down. That is when we looked at analyses of past automation, we've seen that roughly no net effect on overall employment. When we do those studies after 10 years from now, we also won't see that effect yet. We would see a boost in productivity over the next 10 years, bigger than we would have seen without large language models. And that means the world economy would grow faster. Although I still might think a 1% effect or a few percent effects would be roughly what you'd possibly expect, total over 10 years.
