So Hot Ones just sold for $82.5 million, and the reason might surprise you. So they made a show about eating hot sauce with athletes, movie stars, Hollywood, whatever, it doesn't matter, everyone's crying the same. But it wasn't just about creating viral content. They sold sauces, they sold merch, and they even had a game show. And the real output of the content wasn't the views, it was the audience. Because once you have that base of distribution, you can keep feeding products into that audience as long as they stay loyal to the content in the show. And so what they sold was the machine for gathering attention very cheaply and being able to monetize it. And so the next time you're making content, instead of just saying, like, I just wanna get lots of views, I think the next version up of that is what audience am I building and what can I do to serve them?
