A common problem I see amongst golfers is coming over the top in the downswing. Coming over the top doesn't happen because your arms are doing something wrong. Coming over the top happens because your shoulders are doing something wrong. It's your trail shoulder that's punching forward and when your trail shoulder punches forward, your hands come forward and over the top or start to enter an outside in swing path, which is terrible for your long game and for your short game. Fixing it isn't about doing something different with your hands and arms. Fixing it is about doing something different with your shoulders. Now if the right shoulder comes forward, first understand why that happens. It's because you, in a well-intended way, although terribly wrong, are trying to create power. So you take, likely, your dominant side and you shove it down at the ball.
