It's very clear to see that when the lead arm is parallel to the ground, the club is pretty much set creating an almost 90 degrees. Just think about this, it'll be extremely hard for you to hit a powerful shot with no setting of the club because there's simply no leverage to deliver to the ball. A great way to check how much you're hinging and setting the club is by sticking the lineman stick down your shaft and see where the stick points to when your arm is parallel. A good reminder is to try and get the stick to point at the ball as you take the club This is just so good because all this early set in the backswing leaves you nothing else but to just turn to the top and you've got yourself a very powerful backswing.
