If I want to make sure I hit a ball that does not go right, there's water right, there's something right, I'm sick of hitting it right, whatever. I need to make sure it goes left, and I'm going to set up with the intention of making sure that this club face, through impact, is more closed, and I'm also swinging kind of slightly out to my right, because that's going to help create spin that goes to the left. Does that make sense? So if I want to do that, think about my setup. If I set up like this, right, you said pickleball, let's say tennis, if I set up like this and I swing this way, guess what? I'm going to end up kind of cutting across it, and that's going to involve a right. I'm going to set up closed. See what I did? I just kind of turned my chest, turned my hips to the right a little bit. I also might take my right foot, maybe step it back a little bit. All right, so now I have this set up. Now you can agree I'm aiming to the right. Yeah, it looks like it. Where's the club face pointing though? Straight. Yeah, straight. But it's technically left compared to where I'm aiming. Right, oh, I see. You see a pattern there? Yeah. So it's all about the relationship. So if I'm setting up where I'm swinging to the right, but I'm pointing the face left of that, the ball should, almost every time, it's going to start there and it's going to hook, right? Yeah. Because I set up this way, I tried to swing along that line as best I could, and I just let the face do what it was built to do, which was release. Yeah, because I mean, I've noticed when I hit the ball, it spins to the right. Correct, which is what you, remember when I said- Because sometimes it'll go off and it looks like it's going straight, and all of a sudden it goes zing over. Because remember when I told you, I said, try to do everything you can to hit it left. What did you do? You set up like this, and you went like that. What's going to happen is if I have an open face and I do that, the ball's going to go right. Right. So think less about opening, think more about actually closing. Yeah. Staying closed.
