If you want to create a hedge using woody shrub...
If you want to know how to create an entire hedge of hydrangeas like this, let me show you how to do it for very, very little money and very little effort. I do specialties. Because you see, this is actually only two plants that I continuously propagate using a technique called layering, which is best done in the fall. All you need is some soil, some rooting hormone, a knife or a peeler, and some snippers. Here's what you're going to do. You're going to find a stem that's kind of close to the ground already. You're going to dig this little trench right underneath it. And then you're going to cut off all the leaves, except you're going to leave a couple leaves at the tip. That's for photosynthesis. And you're going to peel off some of the bark here. See? It's green. And then sprinkle on some rooting hormone. Rub it in. Without breaking it, you're going to gently bury it in your little ditch. Make sure you leave the little leaves at the end exposed. Put a brick on top. And before you know it, you'll have your very own hydrangea hedge. Boop-a-doop-a-doop-boop!
