There are times where my anger can just grab a hold of me. How do you navigate someone in dealing with anger? By understanding the genesis of the reaction in the first place. So it's a reverse engineering process. The anger itself is a survival mechanism. Anger is really just on top of a deeper feeling of hurt. So when people understand it's a coping strategy for somebody who fundamentally at a deeper level is in pain. So there's something going on within you where you were hurt. Now most of these patterns got established when we're so young, oftentimes we forget the trigger or the catalyst for where we started to develop the feeling of inadequacy that over time became your form of anger, which as I said, is really just a reflection of the deeper hurt, the hurt being what? You didn't do what you expected of yourself or others didn't do what you expected of them, usually. So what you're actually saying is at a level your brain is trying to convince you that you're not okay with the way things are. Now you're in direct conflict with reality and that hurts. The subtext of that is you're saying, you know how it should be. Now just think about the audacity of that. It's comical. I didn't get the memo that you're in charge of the universe and how things are supposed to unfold. Right.
