The 5 most common ways people waste their energ...
I see really smart and talented people all the time that are operating in a small fraction of their potential. They're working super hard, they're doing a lot of activities, and they're just not having any results. Here are the five most common mistakes I see these people make that are draining their energy and effectiveness. The first one is they just never commit fully. They're half in, half out. You talk to them about their job, they're not sure if they want to be there or not, or their relationship, they're not sure they want to be there or not. Because of that, they never fully commit, and they never realize how much power they really have. The second one is that they multitask, and for the record, there is no such thing as multitasking. There is only switching between multiple tasks, and that drains you of your concentration. Third mistake people make is they confuse activity with progress. So they wake up, they return texts, they scroll social media, they return phone calls, they're on mindless Zoom calls throughout the day. That's activity. Progress is this. You write out your goals, the things you want to accomplish. You schedule them on your calendar, and you're spending your weeks working on your goals, not someone else's. That's what progress looks like. Fourth is people operate from fear. This can be paralyzing. If you want to get past fear, write it down. Write the thing down that you're afraid of, and what that will do is it will strip the fears of their power because they're most powerful when they're floating around in your subconscious, and you don't even realize what they are or how they're holding you back. The fifth and final thing that people do that drain them of their energy and effectiveness is they make excuses. They blame someone else. They blame their parents, their girlfriend, their boss, the president, whatever it is. And when you do that, you're actually putting your power in someone else's hands. And I'm not saying that you haven't had hard things that have happened to you. I'm not saying they're your fault. But the more you can own your decisions, your life, your work, your outcomes, the more control you're going to have over your life. Save this video. Replay it. Take a look at these five things and see which of these is the thing that might be holding you back. When you can run the table on all five of these things, you will tap into a source of energy and power that will make you incredibly formidable. Good luck.
