Hey friends, it's been a huge week for AI coding. Here's what happened. One thing you might have missed is Repl.it Agent v2 released and they have what they call the industry first real-time app design preview that renders live interfaces as the agent creates your app or website and there's some overall improvements as well. Probably the biggest update and probably one you've already heard about is Claude's Sonnet 3.7 that released a few days ago. It's the first hybrid model which combines reasoning like DeepSeek's R1 or GPT-01 along with the quick answers you get from GPT-40 or Claude's Sonnet 3.5 both in one model. So it's able to determine when to use reasoning and when to not. And of course it's a state-of-the-art coding model and on top of that Anthropic released their own coding agent. Seems to work very well. It has like a regex style search on the code base so we can find the relevant files pretty well from what I've seen. The downside of course of this model and agent is that they're actually quite expensive compared to the other options. But I guess you get what you pay for. Next up we have Gemini Code Assistant. So Google finally released their own coding extension just like VS Code extension for coding. Honestly, it doesn't look too exciting or unique currently, but it could lead into something else. It's just the base. It started, they only just released it. And one good thing about it is it's free for individuals. And finally we have the Klein MCP Marketplace. So Klein introduced a marketplace inside their own extension so you don't have to go out and look for MCP extensions externally. You can kind of search within the Klein extension itself for MCP servers and it should be able to download and install them for you automatically. Though I've had some troubles installing some extensions. I had to do some manual config in the JSON to make it work. But yeah, and that's all I had today. I probably missed something. So let me know in the comments if there's any cool AI coding news that I've missed. Peace!
