Psychoactive drug ibogaine effectively treats t...
My name is Andrew, I'm a medical student at Beyond Cancun. So we're here to discuss the groundbreaking study by Dr. Williams and the Stanford research team on Ibogaine and they measured that it makes the brain 1.37 years younger per treatment. So there's a few key takeaways from this study that I wanna look at. And the first is something that practitioners and users of Ibogaine have known for many years is that it works. This study quantifies that data for Western medicine. Across the board, they saw reductions in anxiety, depression, and PTSD of 80% or more in all treatment groups, right? So the second key takeaway, I think, is that this study shows quantifiably that psychedelics, again, work, especially Ibogaine, but that these drugs have been targeted by regulatory organizations. For years, they have not allowed to been studied. They have been kept out of the hands of people who need treatment. And instead, we've decided to band-aid patient symptoms with pharmacological agents that require patients continue taking them for prolonged periods of time. Psychedelics open windows in the brain and open areas of creativity and learning with increases in GDNF and BDNF. And the effects last for prolonged periods of time. This is also one of the things that we talk about when we talk about the psychospiritual experience of psychedelics, and it allows us to look at our lives sometimes from a third-party perspective and see what we need to change. This is something that traditional antidepressants just do not allow patients to do. Third takeaways from the study is that it shows the amount of room that there is for improvement. So I think it introduces, one, the concept of very high efficacy, and it also introduces the concept that there is a lot of room for growth, a lot of room for knowledge, and a lot of room for improvement when it comes to dosing protocols, where it comes to individual patient needs. So I look forward to talking more about these studies and Ibogaine specifically with you guys. My name is Andrew, I'm a medical student at Beyond Cancun. Thank you.
