Here’s What I Did 👇🏾 Building a startup from $0 means moving fast, testing early, and adjusting as you go. Here’s how I spent my first month: 📌 Week 1: Idea & Validation 1) Identified a real problem—my three kids were in a soccer club, and it was a terrible experience. It felt like a factory, and there was no proprietary tech. 2) Talked to other soccer families—they shared the same frustrations. 3) Launched a simple landing page to gauge interest and test messaging. 4) Ran $3/day Google ads to see if people would click. 🚀 Week 2: Recruited Team 1) Posted content on Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn to drive inbound interest. 2) Started building a prototype with devs I had worked with before. They were full-time elsewhere, so they could only commit a few hours, but they helped recruit full-time developers. 3) Interviewed candidates, ran test projects to see how we worked together. 💰 Week 3: Fundraised for a Pre-Seed Round 1) Pitched investors who had backed me before. 2) Pitched new investors who reached out via social media. 3) Most said no—pre-product, pre-revenue, skepticism around “AI for X,” and disbelief in youth soccer as a focus. 4) Still closed $100K with a 10% success rate. Smallest check: $5K. 🛠️ Week 4: Finished Prototype & Customer Development 1) Prototype was buggy, but good enough to get customer feedback and see which features resonated. 2) Kept recruiting—tried onboarding two more devs, but they didn’t work out. 3 Gathered enough feedback from potential customers and investors to adjust the vision and product direction. The biggest lesson? Most people overthink. The real key? Start before you’re ready.
