Check out what was inside this drain line. This is crazy. The customer called because this toilet was continuously backing up and eventually got to the point where it was no longer draining. So after a few failed attempts with my closet auger and verifying that there was no exterior clean out to access this drain, I had to pull the toilet. Once the toilet was pulled, I could see that the line was not holding water so I ran the camera to see what was going on and this is what I found. There was a good section of cast iron piping for this drain line beneath the home's foundation that looks like it was never replaced with PVC. That line was completely full of roots restricting the diameter of the pipe and not allowing things to flow through properly. So I located where this line exited the home, which was right behind this bathroom, and marked everything out for a tunnel to be dug beneath the home's foundation so I could replace the piping. Then I brought in my general sewer machine so I could auger the line and try to clear out as much of those roots as possible to temporarily restore service. Hopefully I'll be returning soon to redo this drain piping. When I do, I'll be sure to record it so I can share it with y'all. Let me know what y'all think.
