Wait, people are listening to four hour long podcasts about companies? Now this made me laugh because I am in fact one of those people that is listening to four hour long podcasts. So the podcast they're talking about is titled Acquired and it's basically about company stories. I feel like this is quintessential listening if you are a founder or an investor or just a fan of specific companies. So here are our favorite episodes that you don't have to waste time listening to a four hour episode that you're not interested in. The first one I recommend is this one. I actually finished it on my commute to work today about Renaissance Technologies. Let me preface this with I know nothing about investment firms, but they happen to be one of the best performing investment firms of all time. The story of how this came about was really interesting. It was basically these rebellious mathematicians that decided to start an investment firm. It's so interesting. My favorite quote from this episode is taste and science is very important to distinguish what's a good problem and what's a problem that no one's going to care about the answer to anyways, that's taste. The next one I recommend is the Hermes episode, especially here on TikTok. I feel like Hermes gets talked about a lot because of the Birkin bags and how expensive it is, but this does a great job of breaking down how Hermes has gotten to kind of this like high pop culture moment that they're in right now. If you are at all interested in building customer relationships or how to build kind of a luxury exclusivity around your company, this is the episode to listen to. And now again, Ozempic is having this huge pop culture moment. So this Novo Nordisk episode was so interesting to listen to. This story is amazing. They equate it to Apple's iPhone moment. And if you listen to it, you're going to understand why. Overall, the storytelling in this one, really exciting. So yes, four hours is a long time. I usually listen to it in two sittings, but overall, I don't think that there's a podcast that explains companies better than this one. So if you're into that, check it out. Give it a try.
