#timeblocking
Good morning, my name is Tim and I'm a bit of a time-blocking whore. Let me try to explain what I mean by that. I time-block most of my day from 4am until about 10pm. This is Monday and yay, it's another day. A quick little window to have my drink and then it's off to the races with work. I call this the work prep window and it's at least 45 minutes long. And since it is Monday, January 9th, the two most important things to get out the door are agendas. Primary focus on how we win the week. I run a 240 person team and I've been using this system for quite a few years. I'll get into it a bit later, but that document I just showed you is available in my bio. The next window is a work or content flex time. My gorgeous and encouraging wife Kelly is now up and she is sitting here helping me finish that piece. I really should be at the door somewhere around 5.30. But because I created these all as sliding blocks and I'm not perfect, that can shift. Two mile walk and then I head to the basement of my wife's gym. And real quick, no I do not bring a tripod with me. For example, I propped it on the top of this bag to get that shot. This is all very much a balance of trying to create the right systems but just making it up on the go. Kind of like being a dad. Don't know how I feel about her taking the lace locks out of her fives and putting them in her fours, but I love her anyway. On Mondays, Kelly takes her to school. I peek at their Lego project and then it's the old-fashioned GRWM. Cold shower seven days a week and then a suit because it's a brainless way to dress and I feel weird without the tie. And then it's time for bing bong. Hot mess this Monday morning, I sprinted my ass to the top of the tallest subway platform in the world, which is a fact. Caught the F in the nick of time. Even got a seat when a bunch of kids got off for school. And then we got switched over to the G-Lock. Quick scan of the other options because there's almost always other options in the New York City subway. Decided to stay on the F-turn G and take it over to the A or the C. So this has been 4am to 9am. It started with my two favorite words.
