EVERYTHING to know BEFORE watching MOBLAND! @Mo...
A brand new show just premiered on Paramount Plus that is from a very well-known filmmaker and has some massive star power. Let's talk about the must-watch series Mobland. Created by Ronan Bennett with a number of episodes directed by none other than Guy Ritchie, Mobland focuses on two incredibly powerful crime families in London, the Harrigans and the Stephensons. The Harrigans act as the main family in the show, and they are led by Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, and these two families are locked in a battle of survival, up until the Harrigans make a phone call to Harry D'Souza, played by Tom Hardy, who acts as a fixer to protect them. Now look, this one is very simple and very easy to get excited about. When you have Guy Ritchie with a mob-style story set in London, it is almost a lock-guarantee great story every single time. But what makes this all so much more interesting is that this original story, before it became Mobland, was originally going to be an origin story for the Donovans of Ray Donovan. Now over time, and as the characters were fleshed out a little bit more with the story, it became Mobland, and it stepped away from the Ray Donovan story. But if you were a fan of Ray Donovan, or if you have ever dabbled in that world, you have a little bit of expectations of what this show could be all about. I truly couldn't be any more excited right now for Mobland than I am, because we don't have anything like it on television right now. There is nothing in this London mob-based genre that we have on television, especially when it comes to Paramount+. Paramount Plus has a really strong track record as of late, but when you throw in people like Guy Ritchie, and Tom Hardy, and Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren, it only ups the ante, and it just feels like this show could be an absolute massive hit because of everyone involved. And so far, everything we have seen from it outside of the first two episodes shows that it's going to be that great. The trailers, the images, the interviews we are seeing, the hype built around it by Paramount and the creators involved, it feels like this could be a very unique, different, and big show that's going to really leave a mark. The first two episodes are actually available right now on Paramount+. They dropped today, and I'm going to be doing reviews for not only those two episodes, but every episode that follows. I am really looking forward to this. I have been for weeks. I've heard that Tom Hardy is so incredible in this story as Harry D'Souza, and his role that he has in the story, and when you throw Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren together running a crime family in London that is directed by Guy Ritchie, it almost feels like the perfect combination.
