Best chiller/pump combos 🤘🥶
Sizing your pump for your chiller can be a little confusing. Figuring out the effective flow rate versus the advertised flow rate, counting for the length of your entire plumbing setup, all the twists, turns, tees, elbows, and other components you have, all of that can be a lot to get your head around. Here's what I've had success with and what I recommend. I'm Joe and this is Plunge Pointers where I try to take the confusion out of building a DIY cold plunge. I'll preface this by saying that I've been at this over two years, I've tested numerous pumps, and Danner have proven to be the most resistant, reliable, and consistent pumps out there. It's also that I personally stock these and have them available on my website. For all of my one quarter horsepower chillers, I've paired them with the Danner 950. For the half horsepower chillers that I've used and tested, I've always paired those with the Danner 1200. Like I said, it can be a little confusing when you look at the advertised flow rates on the chillers and the pumps, but the effective flow rate in your system changes when you account for the whole plumbing system. I hope that was helpful or made some sense to you guys. Let me know what questions you have in the comments.
