Startups should be thinking about how to build in the age of AI. Transformative user experience is the key to exceptional products.

So if you're a startup, you should really be thinking about how you can build your startup in a way that's a little bit different today than maybe you would have built it five or six years ago. AI is really creating an opportunity that many startups will only see maybe once or twice in their entire lifetime. For me, it was the mobile generation when iPhones came out. And the key thing for businesses being built in kind of a technology revolution is to consider what are the advantages that you have that the incumbents didn't have when they were building their businesses. And so right now, because of AI, there's opportunities to do things that you previously weren't able to do. And so do not build a traditional web 2.0 user interface. Think about what are the things that AI enables you to do to build an interface that is drastically superior. And so this is true across industries. If you are in food tech, if you're in fintech, if you're in e-commerce, if you're really looking up and down the board, think about the incumbent, the company that is large and what their UI and their user experience is. And it's typically built in the web 2.0 days. And there's certain forms and fields and ways that they have fundamentally built their architecture that is very different than the way you would build it today. When I see startups kind of building a traditional app in a traditional web 2.0 way, and they're not really taking advantage of AI, and it's not that AI is the end-all be-all, there's plenty of really poor uses of AI and people who are just kind of bolting on chat GPT to their kind of mediocre interface. But if you really think, is there a transformative moment? Is there an opportunity to create something substantially better, to remove friction from the world by building a dramatically better product using technology that's available today that wasn't available six months, 12 months ago, in anticipation of the technology continuing to get better and better over the next six to 12 months? If you can do that, man, you give yourself such an advantage.
