My wife is neurodivergent, I'm neurotypical. This is neurotypical behavior part three. When I'm doing a task, if I notice another task that also needs to be done, I think to myself, mm, I'm gonna do that later, that does need to be done, but I'm gonna focus on the task right in front of me. And then I finish it. And then I get a dopamine hit from finishing the task in front of me, and it closes the loop, and I repeat that cycle. But you're not anxious about the other thing? Not really. But you gotta get that done too, and you're already there, and now that your mind's on it, you need to go ahead and do it. That's right, but I'll come back to it. What if you forget? I won't, I'll stumble upon it again. Stumble upon it? Yes. That's how you live your life, you stumble upon it? Yeah. You're a maniac. No, like, if I come upstairs to get something, and I notice, oh, I forgot to put the laundry in the dryer, that's my next, I'm doing that right now. Right, you're immediately, yes. No, but then I might get frustrated, because I also have to finish the other thing that I probably got distracted with from another thing. Yes. And my dopamine, what's that? Exactly. Because I just feel relieved that I got it. Yes. That I can mark it off. Yes. I'm pretty sure there's no dopamine hit for executive dysfunction stuff. Finishing a task does not release the dopamine, for neurodivergent folks, unfortunately. I think that's why it took me so long to write that book. Quite possibly. I love you, though. I love you.
