Let's talk about the trades. The highest starting salary jobs coming out of college that I could find were in the mid-70s, right? This is after you paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for school. I pulled all of the labor rates for trades in Boston, the prevailing wage rates. Sprinkler and gas fitter, $68 an hour. That's $136,000 a year. You wanna be a union plumber in Boston, $128,000 a year. You could go into debt and you can make decent money coming out, which is totally fine. I mean, it's what I did. Or you can get paid to get educated and then still make sometimes double or triple what college graduates are making.
