I'm building a tech product and I just got off the phone with the developer because I have the idea but I don't have the ability to do the coding myself and we just had this conversation because I am Bootstrapping which means I am paying for the development all of the work out of my own pocket So I want to make sure that I'm really closely managing the development and everything that's going into it And so I just had a conversation with him of like Okay, you gave me your estimate. We have the MVP scope how Quickly into that can I have something to test? Because I want to test and learn and validate that my idea is a good one And that is something that I should continue to move forward with rather than like getting too far down the line Spending too much money and then figuring it out and having that hard lesson Anyway, he was like well It kind of basically depends on how ugly you're willing to have the thing that you're testing I'm like the uglier the better. Let's just do this as quickly as possible. Let's not even call it beta testing Let's call it alpha testing I will find people I will go to the depths of this earth to find people who will test this for me who don't care about aesthetics who are just purely able to look at the functionality and Understand that like this is not the final product This is just testing if this thing is a good idea and then we can make it pretty from there So, let's go ugly let's do that as soon as possible and I'll find the people anyway I'm just really enjoying being able to have that control since I'm the person that is Paying for for this and it is my idea. I've always been in tech on the delivery side so I've worked with product teams and I've worked with engineering, but I've never been the one to Come up with the idea and like decide the features and functions and how it was going to work So it's been really cool. I'm excited to have something to start testing soon
