I have a new album coming out May 30th. I've been needing to make some content for a little while to tell you that and I haven't for two reasons. 1. I've been very busy lately. I played a bunch of shows, I got asked to sing the National Anthem at the Western Conference Finals for The Thunder. I was nervous, but I did it, and then I had a long-awaited trip to the beach with my family. 2. I realize I've been procrastinating because deep down, I don't think the album is going to go viral. I don't think there's an idea good enough to unlock the mysterious powers of the TikTok or Spotify or Instagram algorithm. And I'll be honest, there's a part of me that's bummed by that. I'm a competitive person, I really believe in my art, I worked hard to make it great, and I want to feel valuable and important, and it feels weird to put something out into the world and not know if that's going to happen. But then I stepped back and I said this whole album is about finding contentment and maybe the work that I need to do is to find peace into putting something out into the world that I believe in and not lay awake at night wondering what it means if it doesn't take over. So if on May 30th, you're in the market for what I believe to be an album of well-crafted and well-recorded songs that will hearten your existence, I've got something for you. And if you don't want that, I still think you would enjoy it and you should check it out, but you don't have to, and that's okay.
