Boredom isn’t a problem to solve - it’s a gateway to something better. It’s what comes before creativity, independence, and flexibility. So this summer, I’m all in on what I call: Boredom Blocks. No packed schedule. No playing camp director. Just space for my kids to be bored. There was a moment last summer, where my three kids ended up doing an art project together. My two sons, who never do art, even joined in. Why? Because there was nothing better to do. Because they were bored. Let’s stop rushing to fill the blank spaces.
