Vibe coding lately, we all know, is all the rage and I'm not saying it's a bad thing at all, but if you're really serious about building something on it, you need to know this. Look, nobody likes reading terms and conditions, so I'm gonna do the work for you. Manus is one of the top AI agent and Vibe coding platforms. However, let's pull back the curtain on their terms and conditions. They keep the rights to everything, your code, your data, everything, even if you delete your account or whatever. So why does this matter? If you're just fooling around, whatever. If you, say, are building a profitable SaaS product or you're building one for a client, works, users are happy, the client's pumped. Let's say you've built your SaaS up so big and you wanna exit or get investors. They're gonna say, do you own this? And you're gonna say, yeah, but when you actually look into it, no, you don't. Manus has all of the access and ownership of the code and customer data. Here are the consequences, though. Like, you cannot transfer full ownership. You've now compromised your own customer data or your clients, and your deal's probably dead. Same goes for if someone's trying to pitch you a custom software build. Make sure you read the Ts and Cs, have a lawyer go through it, and Manus is awesome, but not for owning your data, because you don't own your data once you build on Manus. So you know me, I'm not just gonna yell at you. I'm actually gonna give you a solution. First of all, consult a lawyer if you're actually at this stage, and even get perplexity or deep research to run a second opinion. And there are tools out there, if you're just building an MVP, that you can use that strictly do not, like, that actually claim that they do not use your data, like Lovable, or I think the other one is, let me check, Cursor, if Privacy Mode is on, and then Bolt.new also has clear ownership rights with commercial use permissions. Again, no one wants to hear this. No one wants to worry about the fine print and data and all that stuff, but it is important, especially when it can have legal and financial implications, so make sure you do your research.
