I don't know who needs to hear this but we can tell. We can tell when your post or your piece of work is copypasta, chat GPT slop. It just seems to be cropping up everywhere and it's like these people are running around with no pants on, completely unaware of their own indignity like we can see. Not only that but it seems like people overestimate its capabilities. I'm not sure it's performing to quite the level that people seem to think that it is. Look I'm a dork. I love AI. I use plenty of AI tools. I also understand the limits of AI however. Number one it's a terrible writer. Like when it comes to prose, blech, you as a writer you've got to understand the feeling of words. Without that understanding any attempt at prose just leads you to trite overly saccharine nonsense which is like a characteristic tone and style of chat GPT. Secondly when it comes to like knowledge work, the actual content of a piece of work, it's rubbish. It can't think, it can't reason, it doesn't understand and at least in its current iteration, who knows what the future holds, but at least in its current iteration it is no match for your human mind. The work that it's producing, I've had people submit work to me that was clearly just pure AI slop. It's not good quality and it certainly is much lower quality than what you and your human mind would be capable of. Where it can help you and where it outshines human capabilities is working memory. Like how many ideas you can hold in the air or analyze at one time. Those are the tasks that AI can help you with. Anything that's limited by your human working memory and attentional capacity. AI is supposed to hold your thoughts, to help you to hold your thoughts. It's not supposed to think for you and the work is not as good as you probably think it is. Stop posting and submitting pure chat GPT slop for god's sake.
