I think this is the scariest thing I've done. Stepping into a business where everyone's trying to do things cheaper, faster, easier, by doing the complete opposite. When I started my outdoorsy journey, I didn't have any clothes that could handle the harsh Scandinavian weather. I found this old wool sweater in my grandma's cabin closet, and even though it was 30 years old, it looked brand new. Not because it hadn't been used, it had been used a lot. But back in the day, we made clothes to last. Now, we make clothes to make money. But there has to be another way to do this. That's my number one goal with Moon Knits. Of course, we'd make so much more money if we did this anywhere else, but it's not just about building a business. We want to change the business. Norway is my backyard, so it makes completely sense to produce mine, and hopefully your new favorite knitwear, right here. In the fjords in Western Norway. No secrets, no bullshit, at an open factory, where you can come and visit anytime and see how it's all being made. And by who. And no, this is not a solution, but maybe it's a step in the right direction, and hopefully one day it will be as normal to check the inner tag, as it is to check the price tag.
