Taking you inside the making of Headlights Home. This was when I started at home and I had some of these little parts in a basic groove playing this thing. ♪♪ I remember I wrote that on my little high-strung guitar. It's basically the high strings of a 12-string guitar. I was working with my friend Micah Talks, and the band, the Brook and the Bluff, super talented band, played on it. And we pulled it up. It had been sitting around for a minute, and I had this demo to the same tempo with the same groove, but it just kind of didn't have the dynamics that I wanted. And I knew, like, as a band song, this is what it had to be. And when the Brook and the Bluff agreed to be on my record, I was so floored, and they just brought it to life. I made just a couple chords. Four, six, five, six, four. It's like this cyclical. It never stops. We started with drums, and we put them through his, like, tape delay. ♪♪ That's John on drums, killing the game. And then we added a... bass. ♪♪ Just simple, like... It was like rockin' Fleetwood Mac was, like, the inspiration. ♪♪ That's a noisy bass. ♪♪ They added those chords. Like, there's, like, a three. ♪♪
