You know what question people never ask me? I get hundreds of questions on AI. People don't ask me this one. They don't ask me what separates people who succeed in pivoting and getting their careers on track with AI from people who start and don't finish. I can tell you what it is. It's very simple. It's not necessarily a new skill. Execution, execution, execution. If you are willing to allocate a couple hours a week on a very focused goal, and you measure your progress, and you get after it, and you don't get distracted, and you don't call scrolling TikTok skilling up. I mean, come on, we all love TikTok. I love TikTok too. But you got to have time with the phone down and focus. That is actually how people I observe making tremendous progress get it done. That's how they do it. That's how you transition into someone who can be as technical as you want to be. And really, there's no limit on that because AI can help you to learn. Now, I'm not saying everyone needs to be an engineer, and that's the path forward. Nor am I saying that everyone needs to be a vibe coder. I'm just saying that you should set a goal around your specific domain, around your specific skill set that you think is going to have durable value, something that is going to be interesting to humans for a long time to come, like being able to make hard promises and keep them. And think about how that applies in your domain. Think about how AI can empower you so that you have the domain expertise, you have that skill, you have AI over the top, and then work backwards into the particular AI skills you need to learn. For making hard promises and keeping them, it might be storytelling with AI. Who knows? But the point is not whether you have that skill and that gap and that focus. The point is whether you have conviction for yourself, and you execute. That is what distinguishes the people who rise to the top. They execute. So, maybe, don't stay on TikTok too long today, and go focus on AI.
