Hot take, I think the people who struggle with authority are the people who should give a s**t the most about AI. Okay, allow me to explain. In the fall of 2022, I got laid off from my job at a tech company and decided, in spite, that I would start a tech company of my own. This was an interesting choice for me given that I didn't know how to write computer code, but at the time I felt very strongly that the code was essentially a trade. I just needed it as an execution layer on top of the thing that really mattered, which was a genius idea. My genius idea? Uber for returns. I spent nine months going deep, talking to customers, learning about the industry, until one day my bank account kindly reminded me, I'm going to need this company to start having a product so I can bring in money, or I'm going to be homeless. So I had three options to bring this product to life. Find a technical co-founder, fundraise from VCs, or learn how to code myself. I couldn't convince any of my friends to quit their fancy tech jobs at Google and come be my co-founder. I couldn't raise a nickel from VCs who were very rightfully like, why are you building this product? And as for the bootcamp, eh, pass. So what happened? The company shut down and I got a job. Now, if I had gotten laid off just two years later, I would have had a fourth option, and it would have been to build it myself using a vibe coding tool like Bolt.new. It would have cost a fraction of what I needed to raise from VCs so I could go hire an engineer, and I would have been able to build it in weeks. Now, when I have an idea, I don't ask anybody for permission to try. I literally just fire up Bolt.new and I f*** around and find out. Bolt.new was the first vibe coding platform that I ever tried, so it has a very near and dear place in my heart. It's the first platform that made me realize that I had basically hopped timelines, and that now, officially, anything I can see in my head, I can make in real life. If you haven't already, I implore you, you simply must try it. If nothing else, do it for the little voice inside of you that knows you have great ideas, and you should never have to ask anybody else for permission just to get them off the ground.
