What this allows you to do is specifically designate if you want the chats in that project to reference only memories in that project, or if you'd like to include all of your general Chat GPT memories when working inside of the project. This is great if you are trying to keep data separate and have several different projects going on at any one time. You can now have project-based memory inside of ChatGPT that won't reference any other chats outside of that project. That means you can create specific projects for client work, for internal work, for tasks that you do every day, and it will reference the memories, conversations, files, and specific instructions that you create for that project. An easy way to think about this is training a specific assistant to remember all the details about a single project you're working on. To set this up, go into ChatGPT and go over to the left-hand side and click New Project, and this is where you will name it, and in the top right, you'll see a gear icon. You'll select this to choose whether you want this project to be specific to the project-based memories, or if you'd like to have memories from your entire ChatGPT account, you can select between those two. When you create your project, you can also add specific knowledge files for it to reference and put instructions on how the project should behave when it answers questions in chats. Another great thing about projects is that you're able to easily see all the chats that you've had inside of that project, so it's a great way to keep yourself organized for different things that you do inside of ChatGPT.
