So today we're announcing a federal lawsuit against MEDA. MEDA, of course, is the parent company of Instagram and Facebook for knowingly harming the mental health of young social media users. In short, MEDA intentionally designed its social media platform to be more addictive to kids and young people. This federal lawsuit and others across the country are the result of a multi-year bipartisan investigation by nearly every attorney general across the United States. Now one thing I want to mention up front, it's important, is that MEDA is claiming that many of their internal documents that we have sought through the process, including those showing that it knew it was harming kids, should be kept confidential. And we are asking the court, of course, to make those documents public.
