Stop using Playwright MCP Server as your browser automation tool for your coding agents. Instead, you should use the new Vercel Agent Browser command line interface. If you've ever used the Playwright MCP Server, you know that your coding agent often has a hard time executing certain tools, will often throw error messages at you, and oftentimes consumes a ton of context from taking screenshots and executing JavaScript in the browser. The recently released Vercel Agent Browser CLI has a much higher percentage of successful tool calls and is much more context efficient when doing browser automations. The reason that the Agent Browser CLI works so much better than Playwright is not because it's an inherently different tool, it's actually built on top of Playwright, it's because they use a much more intelligent strategy to let your agent navigate the browser. Instead of having to search for each individual element that the agent wants to interact with, like it does when it's using the Playwright MCP Server, the Agent Browser CLI actually gives your agent an entire list of all the pages and elements on the URL that it's navigating to, so they can see all the things that it can click before it even chooses to click and can directly click into whatever element that it's curious about. Summary
The Vercel Agent Browser CLI is recommended over Playwright MCP Server for browser automation due to its higher success rate and efficiency. It allows agents to see all elements on a page before interacting, improving navigation and reducing errors. Users are encouraged to join a community for updates on AI tools and cloud code usage.
