This World 1 Golf Coach Shows Me How to Hit Your 2
behind. No, no, no. Just keep this wide now in front of you. See how it pulled you behind? So you're not shifting and sliding this hip on the backswing. And again. So set it in front. Yeah. Turn to the top. Oh, interesting. Okay. Okay. You're going like, I noticed that you were doing this in your practice when you were like doing this, like trying to hinge at a time. You don't need to. Remember I told you last time I want some more width and flow. And then from here. That. Yeah. It's good. Short and wide. Oh, this is kind of just up there. Yeah. Yeah. Now push into your left foot and then just rotate. Oh, wait. Let it go. Let it go. Push. You go, man. I feel like I always make my swing way more complicated than it needs to be. So we started small to build something repeatable, then build it up so I can hit better, more consistent shots. Once that's there, we carry it over to the driver. At the end, he shows me how to take this from practice to the course. So I'm not just hitting it well in the range, but actually shooting better. And it all starts with a simple drill that immediately makes the swing feel easier and more natural. This is going to be your drill. Okay. Feet together. Set the club flat on the floor. Stick your bum out. Left foot, right foot. Hinge and stop. Slow turn and hit. And a little higher. Okay. Now just set it in front of you. Good. Now slow turn to the top and hit it. Very good. You know how you were saying, though, like when you're here and it's pointing here and you're landing and it's still pointing there. So when I get to the top, though, do I need to do that? I don't want you thinking about that. Right. The reason I don't want you thinking about it is because before you were going like this, weren't you? Yeah. Right. So you're like you were landing like by doing this and then sliding your hips forward. Oh, right. If I can just get this set early on the backswing and get the inclination right, inclination right. Like if I need to move you over there, I will. Okay. I'm trying to, I'm trying to set 10 dominoes up trying to push one down and hopefully that one knocks eight dominoes. Got it. Got it. Makes sense. Yep. You're trying to, you're trying to knock each domino down at a time. Tilt from here. Give me the tilt here. There. Left foot, right foot. Good. Set the club. Beautiful. Slow turn to the top and hit it. Beautiful. Very good. Set the club. I want it more at nine o'clock though. So a little bit longer on the backswing. Beautiful. Now. Yeah, that's beautiful. Good enough. Slow turn to the top. Hit it. Amazing. Great ball. Now I'm starting to get much better contact, but of course we still need to translate this into a fluid full swing. I always feel like I can make my swing look good on camera by piecing it into positions, but it just makes me feel Robotronic, which is definitely not a word. But in order to build an athletic swing, you need to know this five ball drill he shares next and the two ball drill after our next analysis. Get the face square. Excellent. Slow turn to the top and let it go. Beautiful drone. So what you need to be doing and everybody at home should be doing the same thing is basically like a five ball session, right? So you're like, okay, for my, for these five balls, what am I trying to do right now? We have a very specific goal for these five, right? We're trying to get you from your drill, which is excellent. And it's been getting you in the right spot and getting you hitting it great through that drill spot. Right. So, so every swing should be like, okay, does that feel like my drill? Yes. That felt the same. Yeah. Right. So let's hit five and then on the fifth one, we'll video it and see if it's kind of how we want it to be. We need to make some changes. We can. So we've got, we've basically got two teachers, right? Number one, and most importantly is the golf ball, right? Because for the most part, the golf ball doesn't lie. Right. And number two would be the video. And what he said there about the golf ball, mostly not lying is very important. There are moments where the golf ball does lie. And Chris talks specifically about this edge case. When we hit the driver, truly understanding this edge case could be the difference between making the proper changes to your swing or spending years on the wrong things. Show me where the practice swing is going to be. Don't have to go long. Turn. There you go. You're not throwing it back there. You're just trying to get through this nine o'clock spot. Oh, I see. So it's here and then here. Yeah. Okay. Now match that up on the ball. Logan, can you believe this magic? Yeah. It's just really, if you're doing the Lord's work when you practice, like don't get in the weeds after a bad shot or like trying to like chase a look. Yeah. Right. Like if it's not flowing and being athletic, like, like you need to, you need to scrap everything and be like, okay, I've got to be an athlete first and then I'll put the pieces back together. Okay. Don't start going one spot because it's like, you're not ever going to be able to play any good with that. Yeah. Right. So very, very simply, right. Did I, did I get my setup properly? There's my drill where I'm setting the club at nine o'clock here. My right arms and my wrist structure set in the face of square from there. All you got to do is turn to the top. And then from there, like as soon as your right hip and your left left shoulder stop, your hands and arms are going to stop. Right. You don't need to be like throwing this thing back or over rotating. Right. You got two natural stops. This right hip can only go so far and this left shoulder is going to stop. Your feet are going to be grabbing. Right. Not like you're doing this. Right. Then from there, it's like, just let it go. Okay. Yeah. I feel like I'm dancing. I'm like pulling it in. So I want one with the drill and then one without the drill. Make sense? Yep. But I want, I want full swing, full speed. Right. Let's see if we can get, see how close we can get the two of them together. Okay. Set it at nine o'clock. Very good. Slow to the top. Let it go. Amazing drone. Great shot. Okay. Now you remember that feeling. Okay. Yep. Feet together. Club flat on the floor. Set your posture. Excellent. Left for four inches. Boom. You're in. Okay. Now you're going to go slowly through that nine o'clock spot. Try and get the same feeling to the top. That's closed. Very good. So what did you miss? I think I just went like this. Exactly right. You don't need that little extra at the top. You're going so long and narrow at the top on that practice swing. Too much. Yeah. And that note about getting too long and narrow is actually a huge problem that will cause you to hit big misses left. And man, if you watched my last round, I was all over the map with this miss. So if you don't want to be this guy, just this guy right here. Oh gosh. Especially off the tee. Wait until what Chris says when we hit driver. We're doing the drill here. Okay. Yep. Good. Slow turn to the top and through. Very good. You got that feel there? Yep. Okay. Set your posture. Set the balance. Good. Left for four inches. Good. Okay. You know, you know, you're feeling, you're hinging, getting the club square. Very good. Super hit, wasn't it? Yeah. Why did the ball not hook? Because it was in closed. Why was the vase not closed? Because I did all this properly. Yeah. I think I have a problem where I go here and my turn is like this. Yeah. As opposed to what? Um, so I'll go here and I'll go. Yeah. Sort of here instead of. So you're over-rotating, right? Yeah. Yeah. So some people have the ability to over-rotate. Like a lot of it just depends on like, are you able to separate your upper from your lower body? Right. So like like very flexible guys, uh, women and children can like literally keep this right knee locked and still rotate really fully. Right. But like, I'm not flexible enough to do that. So I can't get a full turn without letting this hip go to traction. So this right leg has got to change flex just a little bit for me in order for me to get a full turn. Yeah. Right. Now there are some people who can't even do that. So they almost like need to feel like they're fully, um, locking this right leg out in order to get a full rotation with their hips and shoulders. And just in order to create some depth on the downside. I see. Right. So like if you have the ability to keep this like very, very.
