Do you struggle with the slice? If so, it's probably from a bad takeaway. If you let the club head roll inside and the hands move out like this, you're gonna be really shallow in the backswing. And the first move you make is gonna be to go with the ball and the club is just gonna get so steep. You have nowhere to go but to swing over the top and left and just create a ton of side spin spinning it right. Or if you close the face, you're gonna pull hook at a mile left. So we need to get that takeaway to be a bit more on plane. An easy way to do this is to grip an alignment stick with the club like this and to feel in the takeaway, the alignment stick run down your quad and the club to stay closed and facing at the golf ball. It looks just like this. This gets you in a position where when you turn to the top, this alignment stick should point roughly at the golf ball or a little bit in between the golf ball and your feet. That makes it so we're in this steeper position. So when we start swinging forward, the club naturally wants to do this, shallow out. And now we're coming more from the inside. We can swing up lane and we can hit those great straight drives or maybe even little draws. So if you struggle with a slice, take a peek at that takeaway and give that drill a try.
