Here's one thing that we definitely don't want to do with driver and that's drive the handle of the golf club towards the golf ball. It reminds me of a plane that's coming in too steep into the runway. We won't be able to launch the ball and we won't be able to square the club face. So what do we want to feel? We need a shallower and a wider transition into the downswing. Now for me that feels like right elbow underneath the left and the weight of the club head is falling shallower and wider behind you and that's going to get you into a better delivery position to be able to release from the inside up and through that ball.

To improve your driver swing, focus on a shallower and wider transition. This helps achieve a better angle of attack and clubhead speed.

  1. Avoid driving the handle of the club towards the ball.
  2. A steep approach is like a plane landing too steeply.
  3. Aim for a shallower and wider transition in the downswing.
  4. Feel the right elbow underneath the left during the swing.
  5. A better delivery position allows for an inside release.
