Don't cold call a business and say, hey, this is Joe from Sales Corp, how are you today? Say, I was on your website and got lost trying to find your pricing page. Is that intentional? My old boss told me if you act like a pitcher in the first breath, you're done. If you act like someone that has relevant information, you've got a chance. Lead with something that makes them want to stay on the line. Reference something specific about their business that proves this isn't a random dial. For example, mentioning their competitors by name works almost every time because everyone wants intel on their competition. I am calling to talk about competitor who just expanded their branches in Dallas. Is that also a case for you? Or reference something broken. Try to schedule a demo on your site but the calendar link is broken. Is that a known issue? Now you're helping, not selling. Do your research. Their website issues, their competitor moves, their recent changes. That specificity is what gets you past the first 10 seconds. I built 75 cold call hooks that don't sound like cold calls. Hooks that grab attention. Comment the word call and I'll send you the link.
