Admin tasks to do before the new year #newyearr...
Here's part two of everything that you're going to do in the time between Christmas and New Year's to make sure that you're starting out 2026 on the best possible foot. This is the admin category, just kind of everything lumped into one. You're going to start by taking out a 2026 planner, maybe it's a physical planner, maybe it's your google calendar, however you keep track of things, and you are going to start putting in all the events that you already know are happening next year. Maybe it's trips that you already have planned, maybe it's weddings that are the invitation is hanging on your refrigerator, people's birthdays, etc. All those are going to get popped in right now. It's easier to just do this all in one so that as the year starts on, you already have those things blocked off. Next, you're going to do all of your, actually I'm just going to call this an appointment blitz. I said beauty, but it's really all the appointments, the appointments that you know you need to have. You're going to get your doctor appointment schedules, you're going to get your dentist, you're going to get your eye doctor, you know you need to go do those things. Why not get them on the calendar ahead of time and have your pick of appointment times? And then also your beauty appointments, if you know that you get your nails done once a month and you like going on Mondays and you have a favorite provider, it doesn't hurt to just get those all scheduled out through the future. Okay, this one is hard because I'm working on the next one right now. Close out any procrastinated 2025 tasks. Maybe it's a junk mail pile you've been meaning to go through. Maybe you still owe somebody a text or a thank you. Maybe you're like me and you still need to post all your wedding photos on Instagram and haven't done it yet. I don't know, whatever it is, now is the time to do it. Okay, up next, this is more on like the digital side. Clear out your camera roll. This is a great time to go through all of your photos, maybe get some of them printed, maybe put them into albums, maybe delete the stuff that's taking up storage on your phone. I don't know if you guys have storage. I have zero storage at this point. Now's a great time to do that. Next up is inbox zero. Go through your email. If there's any pressing tasks that still need to be done this year, get them done. Otherwise, clear every single thing out so that you start on a fresh foot. And then now's a really good time to unsubscribe from emails that you just simply do not care about or you keep getting them. It will make your life a lot easier going into next year. Okay, next one, I don't think this is too niche, credit card benefits. So if you have like the Chase Sapphire Reserve or an Amex, whatever, they have all these like little benefits now and it's kind of hard to keep track of them, right? So for example, there might be like a shopping credit on there, there might be a travel credit, whatever it might be, double check that. For example, I had a StubHub credit that I didn't use yet, so I ended up buying tickets for like a show and got like $150 credit back yet, right? Do you have money laying there? Go check that out. Next, you're also going to do just a financial audit. Where is your money going? Check your bank statements. Is there subscriptions that you're not using? Is there an app that you're no longer using? Cancel those subscriptions so that you can go into next year fully understanding like what are you paying for on a regular basis? Next up, you're gonna, I know this one's not fun and it's like we forget about it all the time, but unless you're one of those bros that's like constantly posting on LinkedIn, I hope you're not, go on LinkedIn, update it, update it, like judge it up a little bit, whatever you need to do, do it because you never know what opportunities might come your way if it is a little bit more updated. I looked at my own LinkedIn and realized that I hadn't updated it probably in like three years and I had gotten a new job since then, so that's important. And the next thing you're going to do is you're going to update your resume because of the current work climate. You don't know, you just don't know. It's better for you to have it updated with your most recent accomplishments and your most recent numbers so that you're not having to do it if God forbid anything happens and you're doing it in a stressful time, right? Now's the time to do all that kind of admin stuff, so I hope that's really helpful.
